Early October, and the flowers are in. The leaves are so thick they crowd out the trunk, and the tree tends to look like a bouquet at this time of year. Pretty, though.

By December the flowers are gone (mostly), and it’s time to tend the plant.
These shoots going upwards don’t help the tree much.
The weigela has a tendency to knuckle joints, so those got pruned back also.
