It’s only been a few weeks since last looking at this, but…

One: that bottom branch is just silly.
Two: the top branches are clearly dead.

Yellow Banksia Rose: February 2024 update — Afterwards: both dead branches are cut back, with the bark peeled off one for an actual jin. And nothing growing into the negative space under the tree.
