This is a proof of life update rather than anything significant. These trees have been sitting against the fence, absorbing sunlight, and being surprisingly tall.

I’m expecting to put together a forest planting with a bunch of these. I think I’ll be able to get an Australian forest effect i.e. full of thin tall gums trying to get to the sunlight. I’ve even been speculating about doing this as a slab planting. This is a bit hard-mode, especially given the wind around here.
