Black Wattle Forest: September 2024 creation

The solo Black Wattle is doing really well – new post incoming. So Black Wattles clearly do well in bonsai conditions. And I’ve had these three sitting in pots:

From March.

They are close enough in size, and three in number, that I think they will make a strong forest planting. Or at least, I’ll be the limiting factor in such a planting.

Start point for one. It’s grown freely but is now too spread out to be a good neighbor.
Significantly reduced profile.
This is the tallest and thickest.
Hmm… I can’t tell if this is the same tree or not. I clearly didn’t get good photos of before and after for the three trees.
Looks like some clay balls in this batch, which I’ve mostly moved away from because many things with them died.
Growing very well in the perlite/pumice/scoria mix.
Oh, here are the pictures of the third tree.
For once I seem to have appropriately cut back before planting.
Prepping the bowl.

And done. I’m liking the bark mix on the white bowl with the green trunks (which, looking back to pics of the parent tree, stays green when fully grown).
