Pink Flowered Ironbark: October 2024 maintenance

It’s only been a couple of months since I last pruned the Ironbark. But:

That’s delightfully out of control.

What I really want is dense pads of leaves. The pruning will be focused on preventing run away buds and promoting short lengths.

This is where I stopped. I don’t want to kill the new growth, and it’s still very early in the season.

Here’s the other side, somewhat matching the before shot. It’s still a bit too chaotic, but it’s not like I’m presenting for a show.
