An oak is never going to get a decent size in a pot. And since I pulled out the Oven’s Wattles, I have a ground space asking to be filled.

I think I’ll try to take it out of the ground a couple of times to work on the roots. I’m also thinking I can get some movement in by using string on stakes – we did this by accident with an apple tree. But it’s all too early for that.
(Also, next time I’m in Ballarat I should check on the parent to see if I can get a better identification than just ‘oak’.)
EDIT: I’ve staked it in an attempt to give some movement.

We accidentally did this with an apple tree.
