This was a gift from my parents, who found it was failing to thrive in their apartment balcony. So it came it me, because I am a river to my trees. Since it came in winter, I had no idea if it was even alive. Spoiler: it was.
(Also, this isn’t the smoke tree, although it’s a different cultivar of the same species. That one’s dead: I just haven’t gotten around to posting it yet.)



Formally, this is Cotinus coggygria, and I believe the Royal Purple cultivar.
