Time for the second pruning of the season. A couple of factors going in. First, I’ve had a problem with the flatness of the top of this tree, which is driven by the main branch structure. Second, (apparently) I was feeling bold.

I mean, just look at it.
And rotated. Branches everywhere.
This branch is on the inside of a curve that already has another branch. That’s not a good placement, so I cut that.
This branch is on the inside of a fork, so I cut that off as well.

Here’s where I stopped for the day. I think it’s still going to be rather flat topped. Maybe if that central branch was removed? Or the top right?
This view caught me by surprise as I’m writing this post. I didn’t realize it was so flat on this axis. It’s actually more birch-like than the other views.
And finishing the rotation.
