Silky Oak: July 2024 repotting

This lot are a couple of years old now. They’ve been growing well enough that it’s time to put them into larger growing pots. So, I decided to get stuck into it. (There was enough to do that I kinda forgot to take a clear before shot, so this might be a bit disjointed.)

A before shot… doing all right. These are the big ones.
A somewhat clearer angle.
Another before shot. These are generally smaller, with a couple in the back not looking too good. I was considering using a smaller pot, but in the end decided on the same size.
Yup, those are dead.
Hmm…I think we saw these ones already?
Let’s have a close up there.

I think that’s it with the before pics.

Bigger pots, meaning more room to grow, and not so tightly packed.
The dampness mark shows the previous soil height.

One of them got special treatment.

Marginally the largest. I’m curious whether pot size will affect overall growth rate.

This one gets a much larger root pouch to fill.

And done.

There were ten seedlings surviving… two got special treatment, leaving these eight.
