Cherry Plum – 2019 Updates

In October 2018 I tried an ill advised excursion into grafting to promote lower growth. It turns out I had insufficient idea of what I was doing. Who knew? I cut some scions from higher up the tree, and created some grafts near the bottom of the trunk, and tried to bundle it all up in plastic bags. There’s grafting tap and possibly some sealant under the bags.

I’m not sure I even stopped the bag from knocking things around.

None of it took. By January 2019 it’s all gone.

Well, the grafting didn’t kill the tree. That’s good.

In March the tree got burned by summer heat:

In Spring (August) I got some flowers:
