Another tree of uncertain origin. I believe I picked it up in mid 2019. At least I’ve got some evidence in my records that it’s a Cotinus Coggygria. I’m going to call it the Smoke Tree, which sounds cooler.

Clean out the roots, and into the pot.

This has been a confusing fellow. In the pot the leaves all went red, and then dropped off for the winter. By mid spring I was beginning to think it might be dead. But by 28 September 2021, I spotted some buds.

I don’t have a picture right now, but there’s light coverage. I guess it’s going to need a few seasons to recover.
