Weeping Bottlebrush: May 2022 planting

I was out walking, and I saw this tree on the street, and I thought it was pretty.

Small leaves, long branches, pretty flowers.

So I took some seeds to see if I could get some to grow. As it turns out, those seed looking things are just pods, containing the seeds. When they’re ready, they puff out lots of tiny, tiny seeds. So you’ve got to catch those seeds before you plant them.

Step 1: put the seeds in an envelop and leave for a month. (Ignore that bit about the Red Wattle, it’s a bottlebrush.)
Step 2: Open and shake.
Step 3: Tiny, tiny seeds as promised.

Now the seeds get planted.

Potting mix in the pot,
A furrow in the mix,
Seeds in the furrow.
Cover.
Place outside and wait.

Now I wait. Again. (Spoiler: nothing grew by July, but I don’t expect anything in winter. Spring is coming.)
