Planted in May 2022, last update in January 2023… let’s see what’s been happening.

At this point, I’m pretty sure this is the weeping bottlebrush as intended, and not some weed.

I’m coming to the conclusion that the planters used here are not good for outdoors. After rain they flood, and I end up with a boggy muck. Six months later, I take some action to get them into better potting.


These are definitely a tree or shrub of some kind – the central stems already feel a bit woody. I’m hoping this better draining soil and pot will lead to some growth. It’s mid-summer, so I’m also hoping we don’t get a brutal summer streak, but that’s really a generic concern.
