Australian Frangipani – September 2022 potting

The time has come for this one to go into a pot.

When last we looked, I was thinking about pruning two branches.

Also seeing if I could carve away some of the taper.

Well, I did so. And apparently I didn’t take photos. Also, I’d heard that aluminium tape would help trees regrow bark. That’s all happened… let’s say in April.

This is an odd angle, past-Michael. But yeah, two cuts, and tape to heal.
spoiler: I’ll use that board a lot in the next dozen posts, and It’s not often done much better than this. 🙁

Let’s look at that foil:

On the left was the two branches pruned, on the right the attempt to remove taper.
Well, it’s clean.
Also clean.

No noticeable bark growth in 5 months, and the cambium is still quite soft. I don’t have a good expectation on how long it will take. So… not endorsed yet.

Also, this went into a pot. and I don’t see to have any photos. Let me go get some… I’ll be right back.

Five minutes of image gathering and processing later…

hmm… those leaves look unhappy. Soil is wet, so that’s a bad sign.
Side view has quite a lean… I’ll fix that in a later repotting.
