Senkaki Forest Solo: December 2022 update

A collection of updates for the solo Senkaki Forest (i.e. the one that grew out of proportion in the forest).

May 15th
August 23rd. That’s some fresh moss added on… didn’t I mention that?
October 10th: long and leggy, so it’s time for some pruning.
Are your cats fascinated by leaves?

Finally, some showcasing in late December, taken in the shade on a very hot day.

Here’s a side view. The moss is still there but struggling. And that’s an odd lean to the planting.
December 27th, probably the front view.

I keep wondering if this should get some major work:

  • Pros: there is some taper to the trunk, and nicely padded leaves. And it does grow vigorously
  • Cons: there is no movement *at all*, and the lowest fork is *very* low.

I could do a major trunk chop, to make it more compact. Or maybe tidy up that lower trunk. Or maybe it just needs a new planting.
