Weeping Larch: August 2023 repotting

2022 was the year of terrible soil. The Weeping Larch got put into a tray of water and stayed there for most of the year. This was mostly nervousness, and I’m not sure I achieved much… the pot is so big that the roots wouldn’t reach, and the inorganic soil doesn’t seem to wick moisture up the same way organic soil does.

Anyway, come spring I wanted to replant the tree. So here we go.

Inexplicably, no whole tree images. But it’s spring, and all the leaves look like this.
I’m hoping I can keep this.
That’s a fairly rootbound tree. That’s a little surprising since I potted it less than 12 months ago.
On inspection, the roots aren’t doing badly or anything.
Saved for reimplantation.
Clean up.
And potted. Again, inexplicable failure to take a full body shot.

So out it goes, away from the wind, and with no more permanent water tray.
