Chinese Elm: January 2024 Maintenance

I repotted this three months ago hoping for some stronger growth. I believe I got it.

Branches are spreading out and rushing forwards. Definitely happy in the new soil.

Time for an intervention to constrain the growth.

Nothing all that drastic in the end… just lowering the tops and preventing long straight branches.
One of the things I’ve come to appreciate here is the extent of the tapering in the trunk and tree. The nebari is doing well also.
