Chinaberry: March 2022 sowing

Local tree spotted, identified as a Chinaberry (Melia azedarach). Described as fast growing and resilient, to the point of being an invasive tree in south-eastern USA.

As is my habit these days, I took some seeds and away we go:

Each pod ends up with 3 to 5 seeds.
The green skin peels off, leaving a thin goo around a large nut-like shell.

The shell ended up pretty hard to cut, but tools to the rescue:

crack the shell, pry open, and pull out the seeds.
30 plus seeds, although some were damaged from a bit too much cracking.

Soak overnight, and plant in seedling soil.

Planted 14/3
