Grevillea Bronze Rover: May 2022 update

This one has been doing a good impersonation of being a graveyard. Leaves have been steadily dropping off, and the weeds have been coming it. I’m not quite prepared to call it dead, but since planting it in November, it’s at the very least gone into shock.

Here’s the starting point:

Now I really do want to put a little graveyard at the base of this tree. Or a maybe a tiny noose.

While cleaning, I pruned one of the branches back, and found a bit of sapwood still green. So maybe this will come back in the spring?

Green because it’s hibernating as a response to shock?
Or green because it hasn’t had time to try out fully?
Man was not meant to know.

I’m not ready to mulch it yet, so let’s see what happens.

No sand here… I think it would just wash way on this shallow pot.
