Brush Cherry: October 2023 Repot

Last post I noted this was failing to thrive. This spring I decided to try a repot.

Starting point is the same weak set of leaves.
The ground cover has gone through enough cycles of growth and death that it forms it’s own little mat.

Let’s take a peek underneath.

That’s a thick, ugly, poorly-drained mat.
I recognize this as a full pot flyscreen. I don’t do that anymore.
That’s a good set of roots.
Don’t do this.
Let’s go for a new pot.
I don’t want to do any pruning, because the tree is so weak right now.
On the bench, and let it grow.
